A pair of red tail hawks nested on my fire escape in the Bronx. They hatched three chicks that fledged beautifully. Most birds of prey are very protective of their young in the nest. These hawks were especially so. Whenever I went to take a peek and snap a picture, a parent would come and give me the 'stink-eye'. This is such a moment. I managed to capture only his tail before he flew away, screeching as he went.
