Dog Tired Bear

This bear was sleeping high up in a tree two doors down from my house in town. Look at that tongue lolling out of his mouth! Bears and other animals are known to come into town, particularly as the weather starts changing and they need to put on weight before winter. Although people were standing around talking and taking pictures of this bear, it's quite clear he was oblivious to all of the attention. I kept checking through the day, hoping to get a picture of him climbing back down the tree, but I'm sure he didn't come down until nighttime, when everyone was in their house. Many times I've found bear scat right in my yard - usually it is quite dark in color and full of berry seeds.
