Behind The Lens

Location

I take this picture last year on my home.

Time

We just wake up in the morning and shoot this after a cup of coffee. I had the idea and she poses. This is not staged.

Lighting

I just moved an abajour close to her face, outside the frame to create this studio-like lighting.

Equipment

Back in this day, all I have is a Nikon D3100 with a 18-55mm kit lens.

Inspiration

Hayza is my inspiration for some art projects in drawing and photography. She's not a model. She's a architect and art enthusiast and posed some times for my ideas of portrait. The inspiration for that one came after some coffee in the morning in her beautiful company.

Editing

I don't like to over process portraits, so I only make minor adjustments on curves and colors. I try to work hard in my composition and lighting to make the post-processing less destructive.

In my camera bag

In the last year, all my photography are taken with a Nikon D3400 and 18-55mm kit lens. It's not an expensive high-end equipment, but I make a hard effort to compose and capture good images ignoring the limits of the equipment. I believe that make me focus more on my composition and lighting.

Feedback

Don't feel limited if you don't have high-end cameras, lenses and general equipments. Just have a idea and try to execute it with you have in your hands. I just used a Nikon D3100 with kit-lens and an abajour in this one. Be creative and don't be afraid of possible failures.
