Location
This photo was taken at the South end of Utah Lake near Springville, Utah. I saw the clouds rolling in, tossed my Pentax over my shoulder and started riding south to meet the incoming storm. I have a few photos from that ride (shooting handheld with one hand on the throttle) but this one spoke to me more than any of the others, mostly because it perfectly captures the entire point of that day for me; riding into a storm with one hand on the throttle and one hand on the shutter.Time
I was out shooting this storm from about an hour before sunset to an hour after. Riding home in the rain was WAY better than the billions og twilight flies trying to eat me alive at the lakeshore.Lighting
Natural light always, and every time you see a cloud, there's something special in the foreground of it *somewhere*. Maybe right in front of you.Equipment
My go-to camera for any sort of rugged or potentially equipment-damaging shooting is my trusty Pentax K5 MK II with the stock weather sealed 18-55mm lens. Big rugged body, 100% weather and dust sealed... a perfect DSLR to have bouncing around on your lap on a ride into bad weather.Inspiration
