This is my adopted daughter, at 6 months old, when we went to visit her at her orphanage in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. We purchased a traditional Ethiopian dress for her, which she was wearing in this photo along with the matching head scarf. On her face is both a look of hope, and also of sadness - as if she knew it would be 5 more months in this orphanage before we could bring her home to the USA. She is now a happy and healthy 6 year old in our family, and loving life.
