This is an image of a woman in the nursing home my grandmother lives in. She always sits in the same seat and she is always holding a doll. I think that day she could have actually had two. At one moment she held the doll, touching her forehead to its forehead, and closed her eyes. It felt like an immensely private moment, but I couldn't take my eyes off her. It was then that I decided I need to take a photo. I call this image '100 Years in the Making' because my mother believes that she is 100 years old. She has spent 100 years on this earth, only to spend it in a nursing home and probably not remembering any of it.
