'A Rainy Day In The Capital'

Many photographers look out their window, see an overcast rain soaked world and may think, nah... not today. While there will not be nice blue skies as a backdrop for your shot, a bird in flight won't be well defined, but there are some benefits to a rainy day.
Photographing flowers and gardens in or right after rain works very well because there aren't a lot of shadows cast to darken a portion of your image... which is true for most subjects.
Many of the images in this post could not have been taken because I would have been shooting into the sun.
While editing these images, they had me thinking in terms of black and white... dealing with all the various shades of gray... with the exception of the beautiful gold. More of a challenge than the last set of images I took of this building.
I like this set, because the gold really pops. I hope you like them as well.
