Location
This image was taken in my ‘man cave’, a 4m x 3m log cabin in the back yard.Time
Taken using speedlights in the afternoon. Remember it would have been later in afternoon as had set cabin floor alite doing one of the fire shots.Lighting
Speedlights not on full power, but were angled in at about 45 dogs each side.Equipment
Two speedlights, cannon 650d, tripod, two homemade wooden ‘L’ brackets with holes drilled in them to take the spoon handles. A set of Christmas lights, and good old Golden Syrup.Inspiration
Gavin Hoey! Loved all his tutorials have learnt so much from him.Editing
Very little. Tidied up some dust spots, and thats about it.In my camera bag
The equipment I do own is basic. Someone once told me ‘it’s not the equipment that takes the shot’ and I try to achieve results with standard and kit lenses.Feedback
Get in and give it a go! If at first you don’t succeed, don’t give in.
