Behind The Lens

Location

This is a photo taken near Vidraru Lake in Romania. In the autumn, if the timing is right, you can witness some amazing colours.

Time

I shot this around noon and it wasn't the best light so I had to concentrate more on the composition in order to get the most out of the scene.

Lighting

The lighting was not that great, but the scene was, and I tried to focus more on composition in order to capture this great scene

Equipment

I used my trusty Canon 70D with a Sigma 17-50 at f/8, ISO 100, handheld.

Inspiration

I started my trip with autumn in mind and the colurs of the leaves are the strongest indicators of autumn. I coudn't leave this beautiful scene without capturing a good image

Editing

I shoot Raw, so my photos always need some sort of post-processing. This Raw file was pretty flat because of the lightning and I had to pinpoint the amazing colours that I saw.

In my camera bag

I'm in between cameras right now. I have the Canon 70D and I use it mostly with the Sigma 17-50 witch is a very nice lens for the price. I recently bought the Olympus OM 10 II because I want to travel as light as possible and I am figuring out the sistem, at the moment.

Feedback

If you see something good when you take the picture that does't look that great on the computer don't give up that easily. The thing, for me, is to be as close to reality as you can. Your Raw file may hold more information that you think and post-proccesing plays a big part in photography. Keep shooting!
