Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken outside my home in California on Halloween. I was looking down from a 4-stair porch.

Time

It was just before dusk around 5:30pm, the setting sun was behind my subject with a building shielding her from the sunset.

Lighting

Lighting at this time of day was balanced, so no flash was needed.

Equipment

I used an HTC Evo 3d camera phone to capture a playful moment.

Inspiration

My daughter's costume was so simple but playful. She was so excited to go to a Halloween party with friends and later. To trick or treat. Her joy had me grab my closest camera.

Editing

No processing or changes to original photo were made.

Feedback

From 3pm to 6 pm. I find the most delightful times to capture images outside or reflecting the light from outside. Those are magical hours.
