I've only just begun to review the 5K images I captured at the Bald Eagle Festival this past week in Haines, but this image will most certainly stand as a highlight of this memorable trip for both its stark simplicity and sheer majesty. That and the challenge of timing the sun's descent with the local landscape. Simply incredible!

If you live in Alaska, it's not too late to visit the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve if you haven't yet this year! Only a short 14-hour drive from Anchorage ;)
