Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in the konkur competition during the winter holidays. After the performance the participant should walk with a horse to calm the animal down. I saw this girl with her beautiful white horse outside and asked them to take pictures.

Time

It was a cold cloudy day around 6:00 PM. The competition ended in the evening and had to shoot fast because the light every minute becomes smaller. However, everything turned out perfectly. It was cold, but we got used to this kind of weather. Most of the year under our feet the snow ... And the colors ... In those days, I especially miss them.

Lighting

Captured on the background cloudy sky - it is this essential factor in this picture. By and large, I relied only on the silhouettes. In the viewfinder, I just saw them. But in the end, I decided to leave the details in the shadows of figures. Silhouettes on the background cloudy sky - that's what I was thinking at that moment.

Equipment

Old Nikon D70 in conjunction with Nikon AF-S Nikkor 18-55 f3.5-5.6 G. That's all. Such is the simplicity.

Inspiration

I decided that this foreshortening should emphasize the animal's size and curve of his silhouette.

Editing

Post-processing is minimal: raising the contrast, sharpness, and color management.

In my camera bag

Over the years, I have had different equipment. But it so happened that in my camera bag only the old Nikon D70 with the kit. It seems strange to most photographers, but I like this choice. With all of that convenient to operate.

Feedback

I can advise only one thing - trust your instincts! But only when you have a shooting technique and post processing).
