Behind The Lens

Location

I made this photo on the table of my kitchen, I bought broccoli romanesco, and I made several shots.

Time

In the evening, after the 5.

Lighting

Completely natural lighting, with the aid of a reflector and a diffuser. I took about 5 PM because the light before sunset was perfect, since I have taken advantage of the kitchen window.

Equipment

I used a Canon 50D, which has a special way of capturing light in spot mode, combined with a Rollei Tripod with Ball Head, a Lastolite reflector and a diffuser and reflector Scott. Using the Canon 28-70 3.5-4.5 Lens with Canon Tube 12mm.

Inspiration

It inspired me while I was shopping for the week, and I was looking for something special to photograph, I saw the romanesco broccoli and was born the idea.

Editing

Absolutely, I worked the shot first with DxO Optics Pro 11, excellent for bringing out the best from the lens, and to manage micro contrasts and fine contrast. Then in Photoshop I have refined the shot, the color and the light, to make it as I saw it in my imagination.

In my camera bag

Normally I carry with me a Canon EOS 7D and companion EOS 50D. Entrabe come with a battery grip, it adds weight, but for me it is a wonderful feeling of stability. As I have the following Canon lenses: 10-18mm IS STM, 50mm f / 1.8 STM, 55-250mm IS STM. Lenses Vintage Zenith Helios 44-2 58mm f / 2 and a Ricoh XR 50mm f / 1.7, I love the 50 mm. A tripod Rolley in aluuminio and panoramic head Rollei ball. More cleaning cloths brush and always pump for cleaning, CF cards etc.

Feedback

The simplest advice is to take a tour of the vegetables and fruits in the supermarket and make good use of their imagination. And finally, try, try and try until you are satisfied by just shot.
