Location
I took this picture at a swiss mountain lake called Schwarzsee.Time
For this picture we hiked at a sunny autumn day in the end of October about 3 hours through a beautiful landscape. Then reached this lake. We hat this beautiful place all to ourselves.Lighting
As we arrived at this peaceful lake, the sky was clear blue and the light to take some pictures wasn't really good. 1 hour before the sun should set, the weather changed really fast and within 30 minutes the weather changed from clear blue sky to this stunning, cloudy sky. We ran to the lake and were so happy, because there was absolutely no wind. This meant that we could capture a perfect reflection on the lake.Equipment
As i didn't hat much time, cause the weather conditions were unsafe, i took this shot handheld. I had the Nikon d7200 with me as well as the 18-105mm f3.5-f5.6 lense. I didn't used filters or any flashlight.Inspiration
We actually went to this place to shoot the night sky, cause this lake was so small, there would be a good change for good reflections. As the weather conditions changed, we couldn't capture the milkyway but instead we got this beautiful scenery.Editing
For this edit, i used adobe lightroom. I really tried to let those autumn colors pop out. With this moody sky this was really easy. After i slightly improved the colors of this picture, i adjusted the whitebalance to a kind of yellowish tone. This made the autumn colors pop out even more.In my camera bag
As this picture is more than 2 years old, i didn't had much equipment. I had the Nikon d7200 with a 18-105mm f3.5-f5.6 lense. For the night shots i had planed, i took a tripod with me. This was a i got at this time, and it was enough.Feedback
Get out and try your best. The more you're outside and try to capture this shot you've ever dreamed of, the better the changes. In the end, its not about the equipment, its about to be at the right place at the right time.
