Air to air shoot for RetroBomb Magazine with Jim, a member of the EAA Cincinnati Warbirds Squadron flies his US Navy T-28 Trojan low over the Cincinnati Reds Stadium as we flew about a dozen photo passes over crowds gathering along the river before an evening of fireworks spanning Cincinnati Ohio and Newport, Kentucky.
To shoot this, I was in the B-25 Mitchell bomber from Tri-State Warbird Museum in Cincinnati just behind the wings in the mid section between the two waist gunner windows. Those windows are low, so I was doing about 45minutes of bouncing squats keeping steady through a fairly turbulent ride. My 'leg day' definitely paid off, shooting the Nikon D800 with the following settings. Had it been less turbulent (dawn shoots are the best), then I'd have slowed shutter speed to 1-80th to get more prop arc.
