Information on this photograph: "I just had the craziest, most divine (literally!) photo walk of my life. Have you ever just let yourself be influenced with something tugging your heart? I set out this morning to drop David off at work, and I took my camera along so I could just drive around and just take random photos, before coming home. I was headed one place to take oceanside photos just for kicks, but I drove past this cemetery I've always wanted to go inside of, and it was calling to me. So I pretty much swerve into it because I was planning on passing it by. So I go in there and it's gorgeous, but I see nothing that means anything to me really. I was just thinking of this painful year and how I've been in cemeteries too much. Yet, how God knows why He calls certain people home. I just liked to be in that peaceful space. Instead of leaving, I felt like I was missing something still. So I drove around slowly with my windows down until I found this staircase. I had to park my car and explore. At the bottom was a garden with a fountain. So beautiful! I got out to go there, because THAT seems awesome. But to my surprise, I get to the center of this place, and the staircase facing me at the other end said, "Not my will, but thine be done," with a portrait of Jesus. "Wow!" I thought. I was just praying that in my heart this morning! So I had to go over to snap a photo of it. I walk over there, because it seems like it was meant just for me! I kept getting drawn deeper into this cemetery. I see this one red flower in front of it, illuminated by the sun through the trees. Just perfect. So I went to snap some shots of this awesome mural. When I looked at my photos, I almost cried. Jesus is praying and looking up clearly, yet the sun was hitting this just right that He is looking to the light. It felt like not only the mural of Jesus was present, but also God the Father was really in that place responding to Him. I started worshiping God and it was crazy to acknowledge that God really wanted to spend time with me this morning and speak to me and validate my prayers earlier. He heard Jesus when he prayed that prayer, and he heard me too! His kingdom come! If you've lost someone this year, I pray this touches your soul." Gabby Martinez, Photographer
