The woman who ran the farm we stayed at near Catania, told us going up Mount Etna was like going to the Moon. Having never been to the Moon, with all of the black volcanic rock, I imagine she's not far off.

At 3,329 meters tall, Sicily's Mount Etna is the tallest active volcano in Europe. 3,000 meters is as high as you are allowed to go without a guide. A cable car will take you to 2,500 meters and 4x4 jeeps up the rest of the way. That's one of the jeeps on its way back to the cable car. Shot on FujiFilm Acros 100 with an Olympus OM 4Ti and 50mm f-1.8 MIJ.
