Mirror Lake Highway closes partly due to lack of winter maintenance. Elevations exceed 10,000 feet near the summit. So, unless you want to hike 5 miles to the trail heads beyond the closed area, it's best to get the last hikes in.
This shot was taken during one of those last season hikes before the road closure. It's the Notch Hike along the Wall Lake access to the southwest. A light dusting adds to the contrast.
