Wearing a faded red parka with frayed cuffs, I inched my way closer to birds careful not to disturb their peaceful moment in the momentary break from the frigid arctic breeze. I used a make-shift light diffusing gold foil reflector so I could bounce light lower on the bodies of the sleeping giants. The Nikon was a newer addition to my arsenal at that point, so I was still not completely comfortable with the advanced programming controls.. (I grew up on a Minolta and then moved to Canon for the previous 20 years.... always wanted the Nikon for optics, but had been so resistant to change) This was one of just three shots i took from this vantage point. Love the image.
