In China these mythological creatures are known as a "unicorn", but is actually the "Qilin" , with the head of the lion, the antlers of a deer, eyes of a tiger, tail of an ox,, and the hooves of a horse. In ancient China, the appearance of a Qilin meant peace forever. This lantern is composed of tiny bottles of colored water. These Chinese lanterns were made in China, taken apart, brought over by boat and reassembled here for display, and are absolutely gorgeous.
