Holding the camera still at a 50-50 over-underwater while treading water and my friend jumping in the water was a real challenge! I really like the bubbles - could stare at it for hours while singing Under the Sea!

Love the creative angle on this shot, and the dark green water juxtaposed against the almost white sky. Striking shot.

Location
I took this photo somewhere along the coast of Polignano a Mare, where me and my friends did a boat tour. It was an incredibly hot summer day, so we needed some "fake" wind and refreshing cold sea water!Time
We took off in the morning around 10:00. After observing houses built on cliffs and exploring sea caves with bright blue water, it was time for the well-needed plunge.Lighting
Well... no. I had completely zero clue of the underwater lighting and hoped for the best.Equipment
This was shot on a GoPro Hero 4 Black, with a dome attachment - that is required to get such 50/50 shots!Inspiration
Before this shot I already experimented with the dome attachment when we were just swimming in the sea and it was so much fun. I didn't hesitate to bring it with me on the boat trip, and at that point it just suddenly came to mind to shoot my friends jumping into the water. The boat makes it more interesting to look at, rather than just someone jumping into the water.Editing
Yes, there were some drops of water on the top part I had to remove - luckily there were no waterdrops on the boat! Then I performed the usual post-processing like contrast, brightness, clarity...In my camera bag
I use a beginner level model: Nikon D3300. I have the 18-55 kit lens, and a Sigma 18-35 f1.8 lens. The Sigma lens is awesome for a great depth of field. Recently I got a DJI Spark which I immediately loved! Drone photography is really interesting and fascinating, and I'm excited to see the world from a different perspective.Feedback
Get a dome! That's the first thing. There are domes for all kinds of cameras, even DSLRs, I recommend googling your camera model with "dome". The easiest is to burst photos if you want to shoot action. Then you just hope for the best ;-) In my case, I couldn't see the screen so I didn't have a clue on how the framing was. It was pure luck! (and lots of water treading)
