An old, broken-down bird house clinging to a weather-worn fence in one of small-town, USA's alleys. It's missing part of its roof, has suffered some fire damage, and clearly hasn't been used in half of forever. But it has the same look to it as an old man who's lived a rough and tumble life. It's that stubborn refusal to "give up the ghost" that keeps me revisiting the spot to make sure it's still hanging on for all it's worth.
