A reed bunting peers out from the base of a phragmites reedbed at Alkborough Flats an Environment Agency wetland on the lower reaches of the River Trent. The wetlands have been created to take the water from a flood at peak flow to lower the downstream impact. A benefit of this has been to create an excellent habitat for waterfowl, wading birds and wetland species.
