Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in Palm Springs California where I was working and living at the time. I had booked a shoot with a guy in the entertainment industry and I was using myself to work out some new ideas/techniques that I wanted to use with the client.

Time

Night time at my home studio in Palm Springs.

Lighting

I used a main light source that was bounced on to the subject,(me) and then soft focused the shots.

Equipment

Light on a white board, dark conditions in the rest of the room, a tripod held the lamp, no flash, soft focus.

Inspiration

Like I said, I was trying out some techniques to use later on in the week with a client who hired me to shoot him for professional use in his work in the entertainment industry.

Editing

Some value adjustments and cropping would be pretty much the extent of it on the capture.

In my camera bag

Small but powerful professional lamp which is run off charge not direct current which is really good for fill in for outside production, a tripod used either for the lamp or for my DSLR, I use a Sony Alpha 6000 right now, a couple lens, some canned air, a small round fold up reflector, and a cloth.

Feedback

Just play around in a controlled space until you get something you like. Oh, and have a good model!
