Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at a furniture store in central Israel. It was a big and round lighted shade. I learned from the salesman that the lampshade is made of silk tubers. I like abstract photography. To capture and photograph objects that completely loses its original meaning by removing its visual context and get a whole new meaning.

Time

The picture was taken at around 9 am. I wandered in the morning around the shops to find interesting objects to photograph. It was at the beginning of my way discovering abstract photography and understanding that I like to capture and photograph abstract.

Lighting

The lighting in the shop was on. There was also the daylight and the lighting of the lampshade itself that created a dramatic object with light and shadow.

Equipment

This was shot on my old camera the Canon EOS 650D with the 50 mm lens. No other equipment was involved

Inspiration

When I walked into the store I saw the lampshade and the interesting structure of the little yellow shapes and the yellow light that came out of it. I started taking pictures and I loved the dramatically intriguing result and that it's impossible to understand what actually the picture is about and what we actually see.

Editing

I didn't do any post-processing. It is as it photographed.

In my camera bag

Today I shoot with the Fuji xt-2 camera. With 10-24 mm lenses for my work in architectural and interior design photography. I also have the 35 mm and the telephoto 55-200 mm Lenses. Hope soon to purchase Fuji's 80mm new macro lens for abstract photography. I love the light weight of my gear and that if feels good in my hands.
