After a day on the beach bodyboarding and watching the surfers, we were sat on the rocks above the beach as the sun set and put on this brilliant displayLighting
This is simply the power of nature! With the clouds looking stormy we weren’t sure there would be a good sunset but a small break in the clouds provided the contrast shownEquipment
At the time I didn’t have my own camera so grabbed my mums old compact Olympus and snapped what I could!Inspiration

With this image I only upped the contrast slightly to give the image a more dramatic feel, making the foreground slightly darker to emphasise the brilliance of the setting sunIn my camera bag
At the moment I have a Nikon D7200 which I like to carry with an 18-30mm for landscape shots. I also like to have a 70-200mm if I can get a hold of one. I only really use a tripod for night time imagery so tend to avoid lugging that aroundFeedback
Don’t discount a cloudy sky! Sometimes a cloudy day makes for a boring / no sunset, but sometimes if there’s even a small break in the cloud, magic can unfold before your eyes
