Location
This photo was taken during the Dhafra Camel festival held every end of the year in UAE.Time
The herders are sending their camels very early morning to sell. From their camps as soon as the sun shines they will rush to the main stage for possible buyers willing to buy the camels.Lighting
This is one of my favorite events held in UAE. From this event, you will feel like you were the old days of Arabia peninsula, were herders, camels will tent, and sleep in the desert. I camp in this area just to make sure I won't miss the chance of getting a good light with a good subject. For this particular angle, I was lying face down to the sand in order to include the background horizon.Equipment
I was using a canon with 70-200 mm lense hand held.Inspiration
For this particular shot, I have this already in mind. But since the area is very active in the morning, the only question where will you position yourself. So for this shot, I was already in my position and estimated that these herders will pass by in my angle.Editing
I don't do much post-processing on my photographs. Especially for this shot, this was a natural color from a 7 am morning. In my camera bag
If I shoot on a place away from my place, I usually carry all my lenses with me just in case. But for this particular event, I only have two lenses and two cameras with me. 70-200mm lenses for subjects that are too far from me. And wide-angle lenses for closer shot. I love the wide-angle shot because it gives a creative look.Feedback
To capture a realistic look is good if it's not staged. But you have to wait for the right moment and time. And if you patiently wait you will be rewarded with a good capture.
