Michael Jordan and the '96 Chicago Bulls on their way to an NBA title during a regular season game. I took this photograph with a Hasselblad 21-4 format camera with natural light. There's no automatic focus. I must anticipate a play. This time, I focused on the rim. Mike steals the ball at mid court. Takes it to the side he faces towards me and I made the photograph. One shot is all I got, no motor drive. And one game in Chicago was all I got. This photograph goes in my precious collection. Plus, we couldn't get a photo pass all year. So, I tried in March during the NCAA Tournament on a Thursday night. They gave me the pass. My writer and I arrived six hours early. They said my spot; in the rafters. The lead photographer told me to stay court side till game time maybe someone will be a no show. The USA photographer went to the NCAA tourney game and I got her spot. I met her a couple years later and we talked and laughed about that.
For development the film got pushed. Changing the asa through development to bring out the image. You can push black and white film better than color film. In low light levels, I choose the safe method to use black and white film. But, black and white film also turns out beautiful.

This photograph made with black and white film with a Hasselblahd 2 1/4 film format, pushed with Edwal Developer to a final product with no manipulation in the darkroom, I would not trade for any award winning digital automatic focus and contrast photograph on this or any other site. That is because I know all the calculated work and limited opportunity this photograph needed to be captured.
