This is a view of the Café Du Monde down St. Ann street in the historic French Quarter of New Orleans. Clear of the bustle and life of day, the night scene brings serenity to the energy of the Crescent City.

Behind The Lens
Location
This is a view of St. Ann Street in Jackson Square, New Orleans, Louisiana. Taken about 4 AM, the lens looks towards the Cafe Du Monde, serving beignets to visitors and locals in New Orleans alike for over 100 years.Time
This was one of the first times I woke up in the middle of the night to go take pictures of the French Quarter in the middle of the night.Lighting
Natural lighting under long exposure.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D7100, and a 28-300mm Nikor FX lens on tripod. I thine layered multiple HDR frames and pulled out the colors to show off the beauty of the Upper Pontabla, iconic to New Orleans Spanish architecture.Inspiration
I love the colors at night, and while coming to visit my parents, I wanted to catch frames of my favorite city without any people.Editing
I did an HDR merge and post process with lightroom to pull out colors and shadows. In my camera bag
Now I left the D7100 for a D850, I usually have the 28-300mm FX, 8-15mm Fisheye, 50mm F1.4, tripod, Lytro illum, flashpoint flash.Feedback
Understand when people will and won't be present. Be willing to take time and get away from them. Take your time and set up the frame. Also be aware that the best shot may be behind you.
