Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in my driveway. There is a flowerbush that the butterflies all seem to congregate at every year.

Time

This photo was taken before noon when I would take one of my walks around the yard.

Lighting

The lighting was natural with just the right amount of sunlight on the flowerbush as the butterfly perched on it.

Equipment

This photo was taken with my LG G4 android phone and was handheld.

Inspiration

I love watching butterflies of any kind but Monarch butterflies are my favorite. They always gather every year in my yard as they are migrating.

Editing

I didn't have to do any editing since I was so close to the subject.

In my camera bag

I always have my phone. In my camera bag I have a Canon t6i and a multiple telephoto lenses. I have a monopod and a tripod and lots of extra battery packs.

Feedback

Be vigilant with your surroundings. I try to keep an eye on where I see certain insects, animals and plants so I can go back and photograph them multiple times. Most things in nature have a certain plant they like or certain areas that they frequent.
