Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken inside the abbey of Admont in Styria in Austria. And it is famous for it's huge monastery librarary. It even has been called "the 8th world wonder. The room is very bright and has an amazing depth.

Time

It was the early afternoon when I took this picture. And it was on a weekday - therefore there were not so many people around and I could take some clean pictures.

Lighting

The sun was already quite deep, because it was early spring. But the weather was not the best, so it was hard to take this picture because the available light was not very bright...

Equipment

I could not use a tripod, because this is a public museum. So it was not so easy to keep anything in balance. Espacially the geometric patterns on the ground

Inspiration

I love books and i also love libraries. And therefore this might be one of the greatest places i could visit. It is also not far away from my hometown (Salzburg). And i definitely will visit this place again!

Editing

I raised the contrast and of course made a b/w processing. And the pic was tailored to bring it in a symmetrical form.

In my camera bag

Of course my camera, a Nikon D800 with my travel lens. And my wide angle lens (14-24 f2,8). Also some ND-filters and a second battery. Also some SD cards and a cable release...

Feedback

Go out there and search for some special architecture or a different kind of view. Almoust everywhere are hidden details or something worth taking pictures.
