This photo was taken in Snowdonia national park, Wales, UK. I am a self taught photographer and just a part of test shoot for this model.Time
It was around 3 or 4 in the afternoon. It was a gloomy cold day and I appreciate the model who went into this freezing cold river even though she didn't know how to swim.Lighting
I love taking photos with natural lighting. So I wanted to use just natural lighting here to create moody contrast with as less reflections in the water as possible because the water was very clear.Equipment
This was shot with Canon 5d Mark III and Canon 70-200mm f4Inspiration
Its has always been my dream to take pictures of a model who is water but never got a chance to do as most of the models were not comfortable with it. This shoot wasn't as planned as all of my other shoots but the outcome is just amazing. I think this photo is one of the best photo I have ever took and defiantly one of my favourites.Editing
Yes, I post processed the skin and corrected some colours to give the right feel to the picture. In my camera bag
I always have my Canon 50mm 1.4 lens in my bag. I think thats the best lens anyone can have for taking amazing portraits. I use that lens for mostly everything.Feedback
If there are photographers who are looking fwd to try something similar then my biggest advice will be do it on a warmer day..haha!! And shoot with the light source behind you to avoid any reflections. For me a telephoto lens worked really well, I didnt have to lean forward on the bridge or go in water to take portraits like this. So if you are taking photos like this try it with a zoom, or prime lens.
