When you have time
Smell the earth after the first rains
When you have time
listen to the sound of the butterfly wings
When you have time
see the dance of the leaves in the forests
When you have time
feel the soft kiss of the air on your neck
When you have time
taste the nectar from the flowers
When you have time
We were shooting birds and one of my favourite places for bird photography is Bharatpur bird sanctuary. You can walk through the woods, pass by the lakes to see flaura and fauna in close proximity. It is beautiful. When my friend walked ahead in search of the honey buzzard, the scene was too beautiful not to be captured.:) Painting like.

Location
This was shot at Bharatpur bird sanctuary in Rajasthan, India. One can walk through this beautiful protected area with winding pathways and tons of birds to shoot at if you are a bird photographer. So when my friend and brother in law was walking ahead with his camera and the swagger, in the early morning light streaming through the forest cover, the image had to be taken!Time
Early morningLighting
Bharatpur sanctuary has lots of trees and a natural forest cover. So when you are walking even during the afternoon you will chance unique lighting patterns through the leaves. So this had streaming morning light at an angle. So when he came to the light area I shot highlighting the hat and his back, while there was again streaming light further up the path.Equipment
Canon 5 D Mark III with 300 mm f4 lensInspiration
I think the way the light was falling in the path way felt very dreamy and cinematic. I was taking in the scene when he walked in with his cowboy hat and camera. Instead of the shotgun, the camera completed the sceneEditing
You start of with Lightroom in raw mode, correcting the blacks and whites, followed by contrast, saturation, exposure corrections. Then you move it into Photoshop, and further work the colors to create a autumn fall look.In my camera bag
Now I have the Fuji system of Fuji XT2, 56 mm, 23 mm and a Godox flash with extra batteries and cardsFeedback
One must walk the path many times for one to prepare a scene correctly. Which means a lot of practice so that next time when a similar scene unfolds you are ready. It is not by chance images happen, they are always there for the picking. The development of the eye for the shot is a daily process. Recognizing light and shadow patterns and what your camera limitations are allows one to tune into the making of wow images
