I took this in the sky over California's San Joaquin Valley. The camera platform is the Movie Memphis Belle, the B-17 bomber that stared in the movie Memphis Belle. I had a flight on it from Fresno to Hayward and we had the P-51d Mustang Old Red Nose as our escort.Time
Take off was at 9:00 am so this would have been about 9:30.Lighting

Canon T3i with Canon 15-85 mm lens.Inspiration
Isn't it obvious.Editing
I used Photoshop to adjust contrast and brightness. In my camera bag
At the time all I carried was the T3i and 15-85 lens. Now the T3i is my back up camera while I shoot with a T6s. Now I have Canon 10-18 mm, 15-85 mm, 18-135 mm, 55-250 mm and Sigma 100-400 mm.Feedback
This was part luck. The Liberty Foundation takes B-17s on tour around the country doing flights for the public. It isn't cheep, but it can be a once in a lifetime experience. This flight was a ferry move and the luck was having the P-51 as an escort.
