Location
The photo was taken in Cape Coast, Ghana, West Africa. I was in Cape Coast with a group of students on an educational tour of the country. We were in Cape Coast to visit the Elmina and Cape Coast Slave dungeons.Time
The photo was taken early in the morning. I had gone to the beach to listen to the waves and watch the fishing boats go out for the day. As I was sitting there this woman walked by me and, thank goodness, I had my camera with me. As she passed me I took the shot. The image, in my opinion, also captured how hard a life many people in the world live.Lighting
Only natural light used.Equipment
This photo was taken a while back, I used a Minolta film camera.Inspiration
The visual of the woman carrying the basket on her head and dragging the palm frond with the crashing waves on one side and the tree line on the other just caught my eye. It was a magnificent capture; if another photographer had taken this picture I would say the same thing.Editing
Yes, I converted the color picture to black and white, that's it.In my camera bag
My Nikon D7100 camera with a 60mm and telephoto lens.Feedback
Keep your eyes open. You never know what visual will present itself; you have to be ready for that 'magnificent capture'.
