This shot was taken in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in South Africa. This ground squirrel was feasting on what appeared to be the flesh and pips of the melon. We had previously seen numerous melons lying on the roadside with holes in them but had wondered what had made the holes. This little creature had almost hollowed out this melon since it had to dive, head first, into the remains of the fruit to get another bite.
