This flower actually looks almost nothing like this from any other angle. This flower has a long stalk-bloom .. think like an ear of wheat. The picture was taken from the top looking straight down and looks so much more striking than the "typical" angle for taking flowers. The brilliance of the color was intriguing (to me) as well. Sadly, I have no idea what this flower is, but it was photographed from one of the walkways through Disney's Animal Kingdom (near the Oasis).
