This photo was taken on a nice fall hike through Kenosha Pass in Colorado!Time
The time of day was early morning as I wanted to get there before sunrise.Lighting
The early morning light was a beautiful help in this shot!Equipment
I shoot with a Canon EOS 70D. The lense was a basic kit lense. Long exposure with no flash.Inspiration
I always love seeing long exposure shots of water falls and where I live we don't have many large waterfalls close by so rivers and the likes are what I have. None the less, they still make for beautiful shots!Editing
I think I did a little processing in Lightroom but that's about it.In my camera bag
I have my Canon EOS 70D with me always and just various wide to telescoping lenses with me in my pack. Nothing too crazy because I feel that I get better pictures when I fully understand what I'm using. Getting thr newest lense or body every time forces you to learn a new item before getting those shots that are so fleeting. You might miss one because you fumbled to change your ISO or something because it's a new system. If I do get new equipment I take both cameras and such so that I cam practice with the new one but still have the one I know how to use in case a shot comes up.Feedback
Tripod. Long exposures require stability since you're leaving the ahutter open and letting in all that light and movement will get picked up. Along that note, you are leaving the shutter open, so make sure you're not over exposing and blowing out the image. With long exposure you can afford to lower your cameras exposure level since you are letting in light for longer it will compensate.
