Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Mercedes, Texas.

Time

I had just arrived at my hotel to spend a week in the Rio Grande Valley to manage my art in the galleries down there. I was unloading my vehicle and dusk was approaching and I saw that it was going to be a beautiful sunset, so I grabbed my equipment and started shooting. To be honest, the picture doesn't do the natural beauty of the area justice.

Lighting

It was getting dark quickly, so I had to work fast to utilize the natural light.

Equipment

I used my Canon 70D.

Inspiration

The beauty of the sunset inspired my after an all night long drive to this destination.

Editing

I cropped the image and adjusted contrast slightly.

In my camera bag

Canon 70D, Canon Mark IV 5D, too many lenses, smaller cameras and flash to list

Feedback

Timing and location are everything.
