This detail is one of many I found walking the Mosteiro da Batalha in Portugal. This old Monastery in the heart of the country was dedicated to the battle of Aljubarrota and features one of the most carefully sculpted details I have ever seen. I loved how the light and shadow define the curves of its basreliefs.
