Location
The shot was taken in Miami, FL on 8/26/16, at 8:48 PM. We were staying at the Marriott Hotel in Miami.Time
Evening.Lighting
Stay undercover and don’t stop shooting. I had planned to use a Miops lightning trigger, but the lightning was so constant that I just didn’t botherEquipment
I used a Canon 6D with a 24 to 105 lens. The picture was shoat ISO 100, F 6.3, with a 20 second exposure.Inspiration
I hadn't taken pictures of lightening before and it was too amazing to pass up and see what I could do. I was very pleased with how it turned out.Editing
I hadn’t taken any lightning picture before, so I didn’t know how to change the color temp. Processing was lens correction, I made the building straight and did noise reduction. In my camera bag
I normally carry a Rokinon 14, Canon 6D, Canon 16-35, 24-105mm and 70 to 200mm in my bag. Additional pieces are Breakthrough filters, Miops trigger, Alpine Spark and Pulse, and now a Canon 5D Mark IV.Feedback
Have a way to cover your camera in case the storm direction changes, shoot 20 to 30 second exposures in manual.
