I photograph rust spots on salvage cars & trucks.
This rust spot speaks powerfully to me. I see the moment on Calvary when the Messiah cried out, "It is finished!", at exactly the same time as the High Priest did as he slaughtered the last lamb (of thousands) for Passover. Hoards of demons, kept away momentarily by the Holy Presence, clamor at the image left, waiting for this moment to swoop in for the kill. The sun is eclipsed; an unearthly tempest blows as blood flows from the Temple Mount, mingling with the blood of the Messiah. This is perhaps the saddest, most precious moment in all of human history...
