Behind The Lens

Location

I took this shot of the sunset with clouds and marine layer looking west towards Guadalupe, CA.

Time

the time of day was about 6 O'Clock in the evening. The suns rays were shining through the house so I went out side to look at the sunset. We had been having a lot of smoke from the recent fires on the central coast so it brought out this intense photo.

Lighting

Lighting was from the sun's rays shooting through, the fog, clouds and smoke from the recent fires it looked like the sky was on fire with bright orange and red colors.

Equipment

I am using a Canon Rebel 5ti with the creative mode and lowered the exposure. It was taken hand held too.

Inspiration

Nature photography has always been fascinating to me by trying to capture some of the beauty of nature. It is spontaneous and you never know what images your going to see. The inspiration that I get from the photos I take is that others get joy and happiness from my images.

Editing

Yes, post processing was and is done using either Digital Photo Professional or Adobe Photoshop. By using Digital Photo Professional you change the images into HDR then I change them into Art by setting the brightness, saturation and contrast. Also the strength, smoothness and fineness until the picture catches my eye. As for Photoshop I usually enhance by sharping and the hue and saturation scales. And again until the image I think I want comes out.

In my camera bag

Canon Rebel 5ti with two lens (Canon EFS 18-55mm and a Canon 75-300mm),. No tripod yet because I have not bought one yet.

Feedback

My advice is let your creative eye and your imagination capture the image that you want. The beauty of the images will come out.
