Behind The Lens

Location

I took this picture when I was on a walk in the neighborhood behind my school. I am a young teenage photographer with a passion for beautiful things.

Time

It was after school when I decided that I should take a camera for a walk and capture the world.

Lighting

Natural lighting is ideal in most situations. I always take several photos of the same thing so that I can find the most ideal shadows.

Equipment

Honestly, I do not know the exact camera that I used. I was borrowing my schools Yearbook camera to take out on my own.

Inspiration

The little things are always harder to notice. I walk around to find the smaller more delicate objects and flowers to be the focus points in my pictures.

Editing

The only touched up the photo to darken the shadows bringing the photo a more three dimensional feel.

In my camera bag

I do not own a high quality camera. I generally use my phone. But, in some cases, like this photo, I will borrow or rent a nice camera. I do not use any other equipment.

Feedback

I would say to always use what you have. I use my i-phone 6s for most of my photos. Borrow, thrift, and always look for free things. Look closer to the world around you. The little things can look just as nice as a landscape. Lighting is everything. Look at different angles, zoom out, and use the shadows to your advantage. Also, do not let the people around you discourage you from doing something you love. I am very young and I get told that I can't take good pictures because of my age. Always capture what is important to you.
