Having just acquired a newer, bigger telescope, I have been out imaging the heavens during August. It is a spiral galaxy the constellation Canes Venatici. It is a distant galaxy, estimated to be around 20 million light years from Earth. However, its brightness makes it easy to see with a back yard telescope, so it is very popular with amateur astronomers.
