Part of my 'street' series from New York I feel this image works well on three levels.

In the first case the Veteran is obviously still proud to be an American by displaying the flag - despite his obvious predicament.

Then there's the huge disparity in wealth as the limousine in the background is a luxury icon while his 'World' is contained in a few old US Postal Service boxes.

Finally I feel his lack of enthusiasm by sleeping is representative of his plight while the speeding limo (blurred indicating movement) indicates progression at a much greater pace for non veterans.

Heartbreaking that our government is more concerned with staying in power and providing for illegal aliens while our men and women that served our country are committing suicide at a rate of 20/day and lack healthcare they were promised and are living on the streets.
