I got myself to where i'd checked out the day before for the first light to hit Aoraki Mt Cook, when I got into position, I was very disappointed to find it all in cloud, but I sat it out and finally the light hit Aoraki and cloud moved apart for a brief time, but I loved the reflection with that early morning light, plus it was very cold which keeps the air clean and crisp.
