Location
A friends loft in downtown Houston, Texas. He actually took this photo of me as we were playing with layouts, a candid shot turned into a masterpiece!Time
I was running extremely late for this shoot because of traffic and it was incredibly hot outside, after doing many outdoor shots for a clothing line we came in to cool off and at this time the wind started blowing and the clouds started rolling in so it brought the perfect lighting and perfect outdoor breeze. This picture was taken on August 24, 2016 at 4:35pm.Lighting
100% window lite, with a small amount of bounce on the opposite side to create a nice silhouette.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D3s with a Nikkor 24-70 2.8 lensInspiration
I was actually playing around with layouts and ideas and my friend happened to capture this shot of me just at the perfect time as I was noticing the clouds rolling in, we decided it was too great not to feature!Editing
Minimal...try to do everything in-camera. Basic color correcting, when you shoot with correct lighting & posing, minimal processing is needed, and the model remains herself, instead of throwing random filters that take away what makes them special. In my camera bag
All Nikon pro bodies & pro glass.Feedback
Don't overthink & don't rely on 'mannequin-izing' with photoshop or filters. Remember that the more you do right in the camera, the more *real* the image will turn out. To me the goal is revealing beauty, not creating it and focusing on capturing the model's most appealing features and what is most comfortable for the model as this will reflect heavily on the finished product. And always be ready to capture candid moments, those are what I typically find to be the best shots!
