This photo was taken in the visitor center at Edgar Evans state park near Cookeville, Tn. I've enjoyed others' photos like this and stole the opportunity to try it myself!Time
We had just finished hiking Cummings Falls and we're headed back to our camp site around 4pm and stopped into the visitor center for some firewood for our evening s'mores.Lighting
This stair case is inside a small all glass stairwell and the sun was starting to set so the light was kind of soft and muted. I enhanced it with a soft glow for added drama.Equipment
No special equipment really other than my iPhone 6!Inspiration
I've always wanted the challenge of a spiral staircase and coming across this one was a lucky find. It wasn't as simple as I thought it would be and it actually took several shots from different angles and a little cropping to get it exactly how I imagined it should be.Editing
I did crip some excess off the sides and added some earth tone and soft glow from Snapseed. In my camera bag
As of late, I use my iPhone because it's convenient. Sometimes I carry a gorilla tripod and I also have a set of snap on lenses (macro and wide lenses) that attach to my iPhone 6.Feedback
I found that for this type of photo, shooting straight down the middle of the staircase did not quite grab the effect I was initially going for. This shot has to come in from I slight angle so that the layers of steps can be better seen and appreciated.
