Taken at the Columbus Zoo with my Nikon D3200 & my 80-200 mm zoom lens. Belle had finished a run for the visitors about a half an hour earlier.

I happened on thi group of flamingos while visiting the Columbus Zoo.

The depth of field was a bit tricky. Captured these winter buds on the fly. ,

One evening I found this alley running off of 53rd St in NYC.

Behind The Lens

Location

I left my office for the day to find this huge Mantis on the hood of my car. What a surprise. He was easily over 10" long.

Time

This photo was taken late in the afternoon on an overcast day.

Lighting

The overcast daylight seemed to provide a uniform amount of light on the subject. And the light grey sky reflection on the hood of my car seems to accentuate the Mantis's reflection.

Equipment

Taken with my Samsung Galaxy D7 as it was all I had.

Inspiration

I was inspired to take this photo due to the shear size of the insect.

Editing

No post processing.

In my camera bag

My camera bag consists of my Nikon D3200 w/ a 50mm lens. Also I have a 135mm portrait lens, a 80-200mm zoom lens and 35-80mm lens.
